Fascinating via ferrata

Via Ferrata HZS at Martinské hole is one of the first via ferratas in Slovakia. The beautiful trail was built by the members of the Mountain Rescue Service, Kriváň Skialp Club and volunteers. The via ferrata is of a C – medium difficulty level on the Schall scale and it is not suitable for children under 10. This one-way via ferrata is nestled in the canyon of the Pivovarský potok stream. It is accessible from the end of the public transport line at Martin – Stráne. It is to a great extent furnished with stepping pins, ladders and wire ropes. The whole trail follows the red waymarked hiking trail. We recommend that hikers take a via ferrata kit (helmet, climbing harness and via ferrata set). The trail is always accessible between 1 June and 15 September and between 1 November and 15 April.

COVID-19

Due to the risk of Covid-19 transmission, the upcoming season will be a little different than we would like. However, we believe that spending time outside in the fresh air while respecting strict hygienic measures cannot be harmful.

We will regularly update all the information depending on developments in the country and region.

However, the following rules remain in place:

Cover your mouth and nose when around others
Keep a 2-metre distance
Pay by card, buy a ski pass online here
Wash your hands with soap and water several times a day
Avoid close contact with people who don´t live in your household
Cover your mouth and nose with a bent elbow when you cough and sneeze
