Exploring the Martinske hole surroundings

At the beginning of September, we welcomed guests and journalists to Martinské hole, who came to explore the nature, history and attractions of Lúčanská Mala Fatra on a joint press trip. Our journey began at the Andrej Kmeť Museum, where experts RNDr. Boris Astaloš – zoologist and Mgr. Stanislav Očka – botanist introduced us to the living nature of the region, its specifics and attractions that we might not notice during a regular visit.

We then moved directly to Martinské hole. Together with forest educator Erik Hirschner, we walked the nature trail and tried out several activities from the field of forest pedagogy, which show that exploring fauna and flora can be not only educational, but also experiential. The weather was kind to us, so we continued towards the Rotunda and Krížava. The reward was beautiful views of the surrounding landscape and the opportunity to perceive the Lúčanská Malá Fatra from a different perspective.

After a short hike, there was refreshments and a debate about the history of skiing at Martinské hole, as well as events related to the partisan resistance. There was also a technical interest – we introduced the guests to the legendary Ratrak SR-300, which is now a true technical unique. It was a day full of nature, history, learning and pleasant meetings.

We believe that our guests took away not only a lot of new information from Martinské hole, but above all the desire to return here again. The activity was carried out in cooperation with OOCR Turiec and with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Slovak Republic.
