4 sports challenges at Martinské hole: Test your strength in a run with a considerable elevation gain

Fatra Outdoor Team and the Winter Park Martinky resort, together with other partners, invite you to enjoy a weekend full of sporting challenges. Attractive routes in Lúčanská Mala Fatra await you.
During the weekend of May 16-17, a sports festival awaits athletes at Martinské hole.
On Saturday, May 16th, the second year of the Martinky Mountain Marathon will take place, featuring a 42-kilometer route with Sky +3,000 meters of elevation gain on steep descents and even steeper climbs. The race is part of the Slovak Skyrunning Association and is a possible nomination for you to the 2026 Skyrunning European Championships. 95% of the route runs along officially marked hiking trails, and there are also attractive views from the Martinské hole ridge.
On Saturday, May 16th, two shorter routes with attractive sections and beautiful views are also prepared for runners: the 26km Skyrace Martinky with an elevation gain of +1,950m and the HUMIENCE route with a length of 10 km and an elevation gain of +360m.
On Sunday, May 17th, runners will start from the former chairlift section from Strání to Martinské hole. The fourth year of Vertikal with an elevation gain of +944 meters is part of the Slovak Skyrunning League. At the events of the Slovak Skyrunning League, runners collect ITRA Score points and the entire season is then evaluated. You can compare yourself with the best runners in the given category. The route is also suitable for “hobby” runners who like to test and overcome their limits.
